On April 22, the huanggang-Huangmei section of the Wuhan-Hangzhou high-speed railway was officially put into operation. The CR400AF, developed by CRRC, served as the first train from Huangmei East Railway Station to Wuhan. It is the first high-speed railway to be put into operation in Hubei province this year. The fastest high-speed train ride from Wuhan to Huangmei takes only 1 hour and 28 minutes. On that day, five stations along the line saw off about 3,000 passengers.

The main line is 127 kilometers long and has a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. There are 5 stations in the east of Huanggang, south of Xishui, South of Qichun, north of Wuxue and east of Huangmei. Xishui south, Qichun south and Wuxue north are new stations.
